Educational Programs & Operations – Levy

This replaces an existing levy that was approved by voters in 2010 and expires in 2014.

Funds From This Levy Provide:

  • 27% of the Bellevue School District’s operating budget
  • 1 in 3 teachers in our schools
  • Additional teacher training
  • Additional periods at all our middle and high schools (State funds cover only 5 periods)
  • Support for Gifted and Special Education programs
  • Music and art in our elementary schools
  • World languages in our middle schools
  • Support for english language learners
  • Textbooks and curriculum materials

Technology & Capital Projects – Levy

This replaces an existing levy that was approved by voters in 2010 and expires in 2015.

Funds From This Levy Provide:

  • Maintenance for existing facilities to keep them safe and efficient to run
  • Technology integration into our district’s curriculum that will better prepare students for college and allow for more individualized instruction
  • Computer and classroom technology upgrades to support instruction, including expansion of hardware pilots for middle and high school students
  • Replacement and improvement of our school sports fields used by our children and available to the broader community

Capital Construction – Bond

 Phase III  – This bond continues the capital investment plan that voters approved in 2002 (Phase I) and again in 2008 (Phase II). Phase I & II bonds rebuilt 11 of the 16 elementary schools; 4 of the 5 middle schools and 4 high schools. 

The Phase III Capital Construction bond will allow the district to add capacity for as many as 3,000 additional students by:

  • Building two new elementary schools
  • Rebuilding 5 more elementary schools (Bennett, Clyde Hill, Enatai, Puesta del Sol, and Stevenson)
  • Rebuilding 1 middle school (Highland)
  • Modernizing International and Big Picture schools
  • Adding capacity to: (Newport High School & Woodridge Elementary School)
